Sorry, this painting has already been snapped up. But, if you have taken a liking to it, let me know and I can create a piece in a kindred style just for you. Simply reach out below.

Wombats have always been a favourite of mine — solid, grounded, and full of quiet character. In this painting, I’ve captured a wombat waddling forward, one paw lifted as if mid-step, drawing the viewer into its steady world. Set against a bold yellow background, the wombat comes alive in layered blue tones, with hints of colour adding depth and movement. In the top corner, a single flower appears — a simple but powerful symbol of growth and renewal. This piece is part of my latest collection, where I’ve been exploring ways to celebrate Australian wildlife through bold contrasts and expressive brushwork. For me, this wombat is about resilience and charm, a tribute to the creatures that shape our landscape.

My Process

Through the use of mixed media, combining acrylics, spray, enamel and intermittent use of oil paints I let my subject emerge from a rich and deeply layered base. The dimensional texture that masterfully unveils each layer, lets the bright colours play in harmony and contrast with each other.

The Finish

This artwork is created on 380gsm 100% cotton canvas and finished with a double coat UV resistant, high gloss varnish to protect the integrity and longevity of the painting. Stretched and ready to hang, using gallery-grade hanging wire, this artwork is completed with a custom-crafted floating frame made from Tasmanian oak. I have signed this original painting on the front and back, with its title and date written on the rear of the canvas.
