On a trip to Raymond Island situated within the Gippsland Lakes where koalas rule the small island and it’s tall eucalypts, it was breathtaking stopping to watch as the koalas delicately dismounted from the tree that they were in, only to find a taller more fruitful abode in a neighbouring gum tree, chasing the distant horizon. This artwork was created with those moments in mind.

This artwork was created with those moments in mind.
Through the use of mixed media, combining acrylics, spray, enamel and intermittent use of oil paints I let my subject emerge from a rich and deeply layered base. The dimensional texture that masterfully unveils each layer, lets the bright colours play in harmony and contrast with each other.
This artwork is created on 380gsm 100% cotton canvas and finished with a double coat UV resistant, high gloss varnish to protect the integrity and longevity of the painting. Stretched and ready to hang, using gallery-grade hanging wire, this artwork is completed with a custom-crafted floating frame made from Tasmanian oak. I have signed this original painting on the front and back, with its title and date written on the rear of the canvas.
